I think I need to reserve judgement on this….I was already feeling pretty lousy about three weeks out from ending up in hospital. But, at the time, for such a young wine, it had no of the sprightly freshness  I would have expected and seemed rather flat and lack lustre.

Initial nose and first taste it left me thinking cork taint, but left open for about 20 minutes I realised it was badly oxidised and after tasting over intervals of 15 minutes it was clear sadly it was beyond redemption.

Having recently tasted a couple of 2008 Millésime [from you KP] that were so stunning…fresh, complex, exquisite fruit with still years of life to come.

This wine, however, by comparison was lack lustre and showing signs of age that should not be expected, in a  wine that has had exemplary cellar storage.

If you have more of these suggest they should be drunk soon or at least check for bottle variation….a pretty bold profile roast pork belly and cabbage would be great.
