Recently at dinner ‘chez moi’ I mentioned I had given up on getting a decent Reuben in Adelaide, when one of the guests went Rodeo, Rodeo next to Minmax on The Parade! Now I don’t know this guest Michael K all that well but his pleasure with the food at The Little Rickshaw did make me think he might know a thing or two.

OMG so good! Decent bread and not so much of it that it dwarfs the ingredients, the right amount of time in the toaster to warm through and add some crunch to the outside, the right amount of everything including dill pickle. They label themselves as ‘super sandos & specialty coffee’ ‘for free thinkers and good eaters’ …sounds about right. I cannot comment on their coffee because I haven’t tried it, and I will probably never order anything other than a Reuben, but I have the feeling that if they can make a truly decent Reuben, they might just be able to make a decent coffee.

Rodeo is a tiny cute little shop, spotlessly clean and welcoming even for someone like myself who was probably looking like a bag lady in my gardening clothes.

cuisine-extreme April newsletter went out 18 April 2024 since then our friend Suzie Morris, a girl who is rather fussy about her coffee, has endorsed Rodeo’s coffee as being the best on The Parade. High praise indeed! Additionally many other subscribers have endorsed their sandos generally. I’ll be sticking to Reuben but it seems that diversity of ordering is well rewarded.
